I am Jegadheesan Muthusamy, my 2 month niece is suffering from heart problems.Little Neha, the light of our lives, entered the world on 6th February 2021, but our joy soon turned into a cloud of gloom and worry as every parent's worst fear became our reality. 15 days into her birth, the specialists at Bangalore's Narayana Hrudayalaya detected multiple problems in her heart including coarctation of the aorta and multiple holes whose sizes ranged from 0.2mm to 8mm. An open-heart surgery was the need of the hour and she was admitted on the 8th of March. The surgery took place on the 17th. Since there were no signs of improvement post-surgery, she was on ECMO for a week. She was on ventilator support for a week after, and a Tracheostomy had to be done to be able to support the ventilator. Baby Neha continues to fight for her life in the ICU and we have been told by the doctors that she is to remain in the ICU for another month.
All of this has been heart-breaking, but it is beginning to feel like this is all going to be worth it as we are seeing her condition visibly improve each day. Alongside this ray of hope and our determination to match our daughter's strength in her fight for her life is the challenge of meeting the expenses. The hospital expenses is estimated at about 20L and we have no idea how we can meet this.
Only god's angels can come to our baby's rescue through you, through him, through her and through them. Now we just kneel at the feet of the almighty and say "This is your Neha. Take care of her and send whom you will".
