Neelakandan is a 20-year-old, college going young boy based out of Nadiyam village, Peravurani. He worked a lot on rehabilitation of many villages during Gaja cyclone. He is diagnosed with chronic bilateral renal disease, which led to the failure of both the kidneys. Patient hails from a very poor background, was been suffering from kidney issues for the past one year. The patient was given medication at his native place for 6 months and had to drop it off as his father passed away, also due to a lack of financial support. Now, his health condition had deteriorated severely, the doctors advised getting him treated for a KIDNEY TRANSPLANT, which is the only option that can help him SURVIVE. His mother as a single parent struggles hard to save her beloved Son.
Per doctors, the whole treatment cost is estimated to be around 10 Lakhs.
Kidney matching tests to transplant his Mom's kidney itself costs around 1lakh, which the family is not in a position to withstand the medical expenses. The patient is now discharged as hospitalization is levying huge bills.
