Hi, My name is Navodit Sharma. I am 32 years old. I am a digital marketing professional. Along with my profession, I am also a passionate theatre actor/director and have done plays under the banner of my theatre group Navyam Studio Works. I have a small happy family which includes my wife and a 5 years old son. I had everything which a person could ask for a prosperous life. But in May 2019 my life took a u-turn. It all started with back-pain that went bad over a period of few months. After multiple consultations and tests, I was diagnosed with stage 4 soft tissue sarcoma, a type of cancer. After the initial shock and anxiety about the disease, I decided to brave it with positivity and cheerfulness. I underwent 6 cycles of chemotherapy treatment with lot of grit and determination to come out of the condition successfully. The PET scan after my 5th chemo raised my hope that I would be able to put all this behind me and could look forward to leading a healthy life. I was in for another shock, when the PET scan after my 6th chemo revealed that the malignancy has not subsided. My doctor has advised another 6 cycles of chemotherapy along with radiotherapy. I have taken it in my stride and am committed to come out of my condition for my family's happiness and future. But the medical bills associated with my treatment is something I am not prepared for. I had a medical insurance of INR 2,00,000/annum which is already exhausted. I have exhausted all my leaves due to my cancer treatment and I am currently on leave without pay. Last month, I didn't get any salary because of my unpaid time off. That puts additional pressure on managing finances for my treatment. My wife is not employed and my old parents are retired from work. Per the estimate provided my doctor for future chemotherapy and radiation treatments, I need at least INR 5,00,000 immediately.
