Narayanan & Aandal are a hard-working, middle-aged couple residing in Kannur, Kerala. A few years ago, they wished to dig a well to help with irrigating their farm. Since they were struggling for money, they went to a moneylender for a loan of INR 1,00,000.
The lender charged them unfair high interest per month. Desperate to save their dying farm, they agreed to this highly unfair interest. Misery piled on and their crops failed for 3 successive years. Unable to pay the monthly payments, their loan amount has now reached a toppling amount of INR 2,40,000.
Narayana and Aandal's situation is not unlike many of India's struggling farmers. While the Government tries to help, we all know what percentage of aids actually reach our farmers, the ones who struggle to put healthy food at our tables.
Please find it in your heart to donate to save Narayana and Aandal's farm and their livelihood from the clutches of greedy money lenders.
