Midnight is a special needs dog who needs special care and food. She has a broken and reconstructed lower jaw. Broken in a dog attack. She is also a Canine Distemper survivor and suffers from nerve twitches. She was abandoned on the road when her owners decided she has contracted the dreaded disease. She got pregnant and delivered her pups on the road. Then she got severely injured in a dog attack and needed emergency surgery and hospitalization. Now she is 3 years old.
Ocean is a mixed breed dog and was abandoned on the road when he was a little pup. He was adopted by a family but returned 9 months later because they were going through a medical emergency. Ocean is 1.5 years old now.
Maxwell was abandoned in a garbage dump when he was 20 days old. He was found by us just by sheer luck. He has lived all his life in foster homes and boardings. Now he is 1.2 years old. He is an Indie dog.
And finally, Dexter is a 5-6 months old Indie boy. He too was separated from his mother and abandoned on the road alone when he was a month old. A kind lady saw him being abandoned and secured him from further misfortune.
It's a common practice in India to displace street puppies if humans don't want more dogs on their road. Without the mothers' protection, these puppies are extremely vulnerable to dog attacks, vehicular accidents, starvation and diseases and they rarely survive unless a human intervenes and secures them.
And as in the case of Midnight and Ocean, it is also very common to abandon family pets the moment the circumstances are adverse.
We want to keep these babies safe until they find their forever homes. It's true that we can't save all abandoned and sick and street animals. But we should try to at least help the ones that cross our path. The fight for one of them is the fight for all of them.
Please help me with their boarding bills. I will be very very grateful.
May you all be blessed.
Love and gratitude.
