    This fundraiser will benefit

    Mussarrat Rahman

    from Mumbai, Maharashtra

Mussarrat Rahman an  upright lady has suffered the worst especially during the  pandemic. She has a husband who had lost his job some years back. They have 3 children. The younger 2 are studying and the eldest son who was a Hotel Management graduate too lost his job during the first wave when his company was shut down.
Mussarrat who was a High BP patient suffered a stroke in the July of 2020, since most of the hospitals were only admitting covid patients, she lost crucial time and was paralysed completely on the right side and got bed ridden.
Tragedy further struck when her husband was detected with meningitis when his Tuberculosis reached his brain and even he got bed-ridden. With no income the family somehow survived with the support of other family members who helped them with rations.
A week back her school going daughter who had dropped out and was tending to her realized that she has got bed sores which had got deeply infected and had reached all the way to the bone for which immediate surgery was advised. They tried taking her to Balasaheb Thackeray hospital in Jogeshwari East but were turned away stating there is no vacant bed and also that preference would be given to covid patients. They tried contacting another nursing home but there was no ICU in there, Another charitable hospital also turned them away as there were no bed available.
Looking at the unbearable sight of their mother in pain and being unable to get admissions in Government or charitable  the children were forced to take her to a private hospital SBS Hospital at Veera Desai Road, Andheri,
After surgery it was observed that the hemoglobin and  BP were low for which Mussarrat was kept in ICU for extended time and she had to be regularly administered blood. The expenses have already crossed over 2 lakhs may go well beyond 4 lakhs.
The eldest son recently got job as a supervisor, but being a new job he is not getting any advance or help from his company.
With no regular source of income and no savings all over in earlier treatment of both husband and wife, the family has been suffering very badly and the medical expenses are like a mountain of burden on them.
No one could have imagined that the family which had always helped others is today forced to themselves ask for help.  PLEASE HELP MUSSARRAT BATTLE THIS CONDITION AND COME BACK TO HER FAMILY.
