This fundraiser is for my friend's daughter Ms. Puja Mary who is studying in 11th standard at St.Dominic's Anglo-Indian Higher Secondary School, Chennai.

About Puja Mary and why I am raising this fund:
Apart from being good in academics, Puja is also an aspiring artist. She specializes in Water Colors, Acrylic and other forms of art work apart from her studies. During the lock down period she has crafted many art works in painting as well made several positivity based presentations (enclosed). As her parents are uneducated, she aspires to study well and help her parents through her education. Moreover her mother is in a low level job while her father is not able to contribute financially due to ill health. Puja is very aspirational and has taken a group with focus of Science and Maths as subjects (Group A). The total fees is Rs.46, 660/- (fee demand from school enclosed). She is also interested in English as a subject and hence wants to continue in the same school which provides good exposure to the language.
The Family Situation
Puja’s Mother: Puja’s mother Mrs. Shirley works as a low level clerical staff at a private college in Chennai with a monthly salary of Rs.10,000/-. Being from a poor socio-economic background and having worked in an educational institution, she understands the need for better education of her daughter even though she finds it difficult to make ends meet while paying the child’s fees. Also, due to her unemployed and ailing husband, she is the sole breadwinner of the family.

Puja’s Father: Puja’s father is unemployed due to several health related complications over the past 6 years. He has a chronic cardiac condition which prevents him from doing any hard labor. Also, in an accident 5 years back he lost his vision in one of the eyes. As a consequence, Puja’s mother also has to take care of her husband’s medical expenses apart from the household and educational expenses. Her husband has not been contributing financially over the last 6 years now.
Hence I am calling for financial assistance from kind hearted people to help fund Puja’s education. I am also open if anyone wants to sponsor the child’s education on a long term basis.
