Unfortunately, his family is in dire straits. His father met with an accident and injured himself at work 3 years back, needing several orthopedic surgeries and making him invalid for work. His elder brothers, themselves small children, have been battling childhood diabetes, and visual disturbances respectively. Its the sheer mental strength and resilience of his soft spoken mother that has managed to keep the child alive so far. I don't know how she is managing, she didn't lament all these stories to us till we enquired. The child has a curable cancer, but needs substantial monetary help. Of course, lots of prayers as well. Every time we draw his blood or insert an iv line, his cry resonates across the department. I promise him that once he grows up, one day I will give him the opportunity to do to me what I do to him today. Please help us make it happen.
