I am Mominur Rahman, have been working in development sector since 1996 in Dhaka, and Cox’s Bazar, Bangladesh where Rohingya in-fluxed form Mayanmar in 2017, I individually worked with those people in host community whose are under below poverty line with persons with disabilities which is a challenging task other than work. I am interested to support to the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs) because, during my working life, I spent my most time to work with vulnerable persons with disabilities who might be changed to their life into livelihoods with small amount of support who would like to help the vulnerable people as generous contributor.
Specific Use of Funds for the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
Persons with Disabilities whose are critically affected by the current influx COVID-19 pandemic.
Persons with disabilities have been critically affected to their petty trade and lost their all invested capital due to countrywide lock down for COVID-19 pandemic. As a result, they are burden as well as neglected to their family and community. All we know that, most people affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also deprived from all income generating activities.
For being of their disabilities, they are double discriminated by the society and community due to could not be involved in any wage earning. As a result, they are burden as well as neglected to their family and community. It is known to all that, most people affected due to the COVID-19 pandemic and also deprived from all income generating activities. Among them low income and persons with disabilities are under worst situation.
As I have assessed about their present situation and prepare a database in excel more than 100 persons with disabilities whose were involved with any works i.e. mobile servicing, tea stall, petty trader, poultry rearing, assistant of grocery shop, nut seller on road side etc. But, it was found that; they have been lost everything for countrywide locked down in last 4 months due to COVID-19 pandemic. Currently, all they are living under predicament situation.
Required time for Funding: I need fund by the end of August 2020.
Explanation: As COVID-19 pandemic is improving day by day, it is assuming that everything will come under control by August 2020 in Bangladesh. And so, persons with disabilities could be able to turn their previous position if they got grant charity to start their trade again with only US: 60 to 70 dollars for per person by end of August 2020. As they lost their all capital for food consumption and other family expenditure due to locked down in last 4 months, again they will be regained previous circumstances if all of you would be participate to donate them as extraordinary generosity to persons with disabilities.
Fund Using Plan
Thorough assessment of vulnerability and volume of petty trade of each beneficiaries, fund will be distributed among the beneficiaries in which according the trade category, fund may be + - per beneficiaries. After receiving fund, it will be distributed from 1st week of September 2020 consecutively in present of Government administrative authority and Chairman of local Government. All beneficiaries will receive fund on an average US 65 dollars to start their petty trade. After disbursement, follow-up activities will be continued once in a month.
Specific Use of Funds for the Persons with Disabilities (PWDs)
- 100 persons with disabilities (PWDs) will get support to regain their petty trade;
- 100 PWDs will get an great mental support from where disability will be eliminated to touch in work;
- 100 PWDs will regain their dignity from the community and society through involving with work;
- 500 households members will be benefited from one members in each households;
- Livelihoods status of 500 households’ members will be increased.
