I am Mohan Kumar S, championing this cause to raise funds for a friend of mine, M Bharathi Kumar (Aged: ~29 yrs), who is diagnosed with Blood Cancer (Acute Myeloid Leukemia - AML FAB M4) and has been undergoing treatment since mid-2019.
After undergoing several sessions of chemotherapy from Aug 2019 until Feb 2020, his recovery was promising according to the doctors. However, with uncertain and vulnerable times due to COVID-19, he was shifted to self-isolation at home in Aiyampalayam, Paramathi Vellur Taluk, a village in Namakkal district of Tamil Nadu. He was diagnosed recently with the cancer relapse much to the agony of his friends and family.
Consequently, Dr. Varadarajan, Consultant Haematologist from Centre for Blood Disorders, Chennai, who had been treating him has recommended performing a stem cell transplant surgery to save his life. This surgery could cost between Rs. 35 to 40 lakh INR.
Swift collection of funds to enable the arrangement of surgery is the dire need of the hour to be able to save his life.
Bharathi Kumar is presently admitted in Kovai Medical Centre & Hospital, Coimbatore (KMCH), and is undergoing treatment there, by Dr. Rajasekar and his team.
