A few days ago, we rescued a sick, malnourished, utterly famished cow and 2 calves from the streets. The cow and calves were on the verge of being driven to a slaughterhouse.

The cow and calves are quite distressed, they have been subjected to severe abuse. Unfortunately, one of the calves had its tail cut off.

We are raising funds as a responsibility towards these silent animals, and plan to use the funds for the following purposes:

A continuous rescue operation to help find and bring stray and abused cows to safety
Nurse them back to good health and give them a new lease of life.

We have an adequate land bank to cater to such kind of cows in Kakinada, Andhra Pradesh, where they are currently being nursed. This land bank has space for more cows so we want to rescue and serve as many helpless cows from the streets as possible.

We want to invite like-minded individuals like you, to step forward and support us in this endeavor.

Here is an approximate breakdown of how funds will be utilized, we plan to raise funds for a maintenance period of 5 months, post which, we plan to find someone who can adopt and pay for each cow/calf.

Caretaker salary 8000Rs X 5 months = 40000
2 sheds, 1 for cow and calf, 1 for another calf because the mother is not accepting the other calf = 32000
Food (fodder, cattle feed, mineral mixture) X 3 cows = 500/day *30 days = 15,000 /mth X 4 months until we find adopters. = 75,000
Medicines and other misc 2000/mth X 5 = 10,000

Total cost = Rs. 157,000

Unfortunately, the mother died. We are now left with 2 calves to tend to. They are both currently happy although the calf that lost its mother is sometimes searching for her and is a bit sad. We are taking good care of it.

We have raised a few funds already, and since the mother's medical treatment is not a cost any more, we have reduced this fundraiser from 1.5L to just 50,000.
