Last year, during the Covid crisis, Aman Prayas supported communities in the following way -
1. Food Rations for vulnerable households (mainly to those without ration cards) from dalit, adivasi and other disadvantaged groups; and later to pregnant women requiring special nutrition - about 6000 households.
2. Cash support to migrant workers stranded outside the state (Rs 2000 to 10000) depending on the size and needs of the migrant group.
In the recent months the effort has been to follow up with the workers, link them to social security schemes, get them registered and aware of labour rights. This time during the Covid second phase when beyond livelihood, health costs in the families have risen, we intend to support the poor worker's families once again.
Why Do We Need Funds
Funds are required to support 1000 families with food rations, and 500 families with cash for their health needs. As practised in the previous year, the food rations are given in the form of kit comprising of rice, dal, oil, soyabean, soap, etc while the cash support is given into the bank accounts of the need.
