Mr. Mehmood Sarang (age 87), lost his wife last year in the first wave of COVID-19.
In the second wave, all his family member except 1 were detected positive for COVID- 19. His son, his grandchildren (3), his daughter, daughter in law & himself all were taking to the government run COVID center.
His and his Son's condition was very critical as the oxygen levels started dropping drastically. Due to the unprecedented surge the government run COVID center couldn't provide ICU beds with ventilator and started asking us to move the patients to an ICU facility. Unfortunately we struggled for 24 hours trying to get a government facility with ICU beds and Ventilator, we were diverted by the COVID war rooms towards private facilities with the desperation to save life as we were losing valuable time we took the decision of admitting my uncle’s 51 year old son with a hope that we will be able to manage the funds required to save his life.
Having faced COVID in the first wave, the family did not have much to face the current wave and get treatment at a private facility which usually costs around 5-7 Lakhs. We started asking financial help from family and friends to get at least 1 person treated in a private facility . Unfortunately the funds received would hardly be enough to save his son. Whereas he still is struggling to get an ICU bed in a government facility which is very unlikely looking at the current situation. The family members have to take a very tough decision of save 1 life out of the 2 lives in danger.
Creating this fundraiser with a hope as there is still time to save his life at a private facility.
The funds raised would be use to hospitalize Mr. Mehmood at a private facility, we do not have much time.
