About Maruti
Maruti is a 19 year old boy pursuing his under-graduation in Commerce in Government College Gadag. He lost his hearing ability over a course of time from 6 year on-wards and due to negligence and high illiteracy in the family the family could not identify this issue in him at the early stage leading to a high level damage of ears.
Having a very humble backgrounds Maruti works as a news paper boy in the morning and helps to support his family in the way he can. He aspires to become a IAS officer one day and serve the Nation.
About Maruti's hearing Loss, Tests & Recommendations by JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing
Marutis hearing loss started when he was studying in school. The Teacher in school identified it and informed his parents but due to low income, illiteracy and ignorance the hearing loss turned critical and led into Bilateral Moderate Mixed Hearing Loss.On recommendation of the District Hospital Gadag; Maruti was taken to JSS Institute of Speech and hearing on 12th October, 2019 and various tests like Audiogram, Tympannogram, Tympannometry, Auditory Brainstem Response etc. were done and a provisional diagnosis of Bilateral Moderate Mixed Hearing Loss and Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder was found out.
Recommendations by the JSS Institute of Speech and Hearing
After the tests and provisional diagnosis of Bilateral Moderate Mixed Hearing Loss and Auditory Neuropathy Spectrum Disorder, The institute has recommended following steps of treatments as below:
1. Neurological Evaluation
2. Hearing Aid Fitting
3. Communication Strategy Training
4. Counseling by the experts and Follow ups.
