My name is Maria and I have been working as an Advisor in Technical Support Team for a year. I hold an unconditional offer to study a postgraduate certified diploma from the prestigious Lambton College Sarnia Ontario, Canada. I got the offer letter in early February this year. But now I require funds to go there to study.
After a year of my experience in Technical Support and Customer Service. I want to expand on my knowledge and thus I chose to study the PGD in Business Management-International Business.
I believe this course is ideal for me as it will help me understand things about the Global Business and Management. The course covers the Marketing & Accounting concepts, Human Resource Management ( HRM) , Leadership in change Management and Global Market entry strategies, Development of products & services for an International market which I am keen on learning more about as I plan to put it to use as I continue to pursue Business Management-International Business from an academic bent of mind.
I come from a family where I am a first-generation learner as both my parents were not educated due to the financial constraint they had growing up. Irrespective, they were very supportive of educating me and my younger sibling, and have always encouraged us to pursue our academic pursuits. It was their encouragement which lead me to do academically well all through school and college.
I was fortunate to get a job at Concentrix where I worked as an Advisor in Technical Support and Expert in the Customer Service so that I could learn and enhance my skills.
It was between my work that I had to prepare for my IELTS exam and also apply for scholarships in a short span of time.
My efforts paid off with the unconditional offer I received from Lambton College. While it was a happy moment I was aware that I still need to collect funds as my parents cannot afford the amount.
The cost of studying the one-year course at Lambton College is $14,120 CAD ( 850489.11 INR ). I am looking for financial support. And though Lambton College gives scholarship of $3000 CAD (around 180698.82 INR ), the living expense in Ontario would be around $11,580.00 CAD( 697497.45 INR ), bringing the total money required to be around $22,700 CAD (around 1367287.74 INR).
I cannot afford my education as father is the lone earner in the family besides me. He is a small-time businessman and has hardly had any work in the last one and a half years due to the Covid-19 pandemic. Without any external help, it will be impossible for me to go to Lambton College; something which I am keen on.
The most we can generate is 4-5 lakh rupees after much trouble. Taking a loan is not an option because my mother is a homemaker and my father is a daily wage earner. We do not have any collateral to give to the bank.
As an Indian student, like many others, I would also work while I am studying there and earn for my living expenses and second year fee.
Since I come from a background where my parents had to let go of their education due to lack of funds, I desire to help out the marginal sections of Indian society with their education dreams. Finance shouldn’t be an obstacle for my intellectual and career growth. With my success I can give my parents rest as they are still struggling to make a living and provide us two times meal. I hope to be the bridge between their dreams while I pursue my career in Business Management and continue to create a positive impact through my work.
For this I require your help and assistance in making my dream a reality, so please do contribute. Even if one person donates minimum amount Rs 500 and maximum as per your capacity, it will help a lot as I hope to reach out to over one thousand people in the next 2 months before I leave.
