Manoj comes from humble roots. His father is a retired painter and his mother is a homemaker. He got exposed to wrongful treatment at the nascent stage of 1 year, due to which he acquired a PPRP Lower limb condition. Nevertheless, he achieved a career ranking of 1 in his category in both men's singles and doubles. In 2018 he received the Arjuna award from the Government of India, commemorating his contribution and accolades.
