My father, Mani Kant Srivastava, is 59 years old and is battling for his life. He is suffering from Acute Myeloid Leukaemia-, a rare subtype of deadly cancer, and needs urgent treatment to survive.
On 30th October, 2021, Everything was normal for us, we were so happy as my brother was getting married, we were not prepared for this even in our dreams. My father felt fever at midnight So We thought it was normal with the changing weather but for assurance we went to a doctor, he ran some test, my father's platelets were at 18000, we admitted him in a pvt. hospital in Shahjahanpur (UP) on 31st October, coincidentally it was my father's birthday.
In 3-4 days platelets were increasing so he got discharged and we were so happy, it was diwali.
After two days again platelets dropped and he was admitted again. After a week of treatment I decided to move out from Shahjahanpur to meet better doctors, we came to Lucknow, consulted some experienced Doctors but still no progress at all.
On 17 Nov he was very weak, and platelets dropped at 10,000, we went to Sahara Hospital in emergency situation. Bone marrow biopsy was done. On 20th Nov Doctor told me and my brother in his cabin, "it's Blood cancer".
Brothers wedding was scheduled on 21st November, a day before that we got this news, our whole world collapsed. We were devastated when we heard the news but we quickly gathered ourselves and asked the doctor about the treatment. He said the cancer was advancing quickly and it is much needed to start medication and chemotherapy immediately. We gathered whatever funds we could to start the treatment and admitted him in SGPGI Lucknow as it was more affordable for us.
The hospital has given an estimate of Rs 8 Lakh for starting 6 months And eventually he will need Bone marrow transplant which is very expensive procedure (30-35 lakhs) and hospital stay will be more. We have exhausted all our savings and also took some loan from our relatives. I work as a JE in Indian railways, I am still in my probation period and unfortunately do not have the money to afford such expensive treatment.
Please find it in your heart to help save my father's life. He is my everything, I cannot bear the thought of losing him. Please donate as much you can for his treatment. Every bit counts. You can go through the documents.
