At a glance, he was disabled by polio at the age of 5. But has beaten all odds and brought 19 international medals to India in sport-climbing from 2012 to date. He has made India proud on multiple international forums for 9 years now and is yet an unknown entity. (sharing his profile to know more).
Despite all his achievements he is struggling financially to find support to continue to represent our country on the international stage. He used to work as a coach to students of sports climbing at Kanteerava stadium, Bengaluru to support himself even as he was training himself and also taking up small jobs to support his family. But Covid changed that. This year he had to incur debt to participate on behalf of India as his limited sponsors backed off at the last minute and government support failed to materialize on time.
He richly deserves all the recognition he can get and should not have to struggle to train and participate. Sport-climbing was included in the last Olympics in Tokyo and is likely to be added to the next paralympics too.
