Mangal Sahu hails from a village in the Darbhanga district of Bihar. He is the sole earner of his family- a wife and three children. He is a cook by profession and has been earning his livelihood by cooking for students in Delhi NCR for the last 10-15 years. Most of his earnings would go back home which would cover the expense of the family, which also included the education of his children.
 
Ever since the corona virus pandemic outbreak, life has been very difficult for him. He had to return home in March and has been unemployed since. The flood situation in Bihar has only worsened his condition as they will not be reaping any harvest this year. Future earning prospects look bleak at the moment and the family is very fragile right now.
