Manav Vikas Seva Sangh (Manav Vikas) founded in 1969 and registered in 1989 under M.P. Firms and Societies Act 1973, is the official development organization of Catholic Diocese of Sagar, Madhya Pradesh, India. As an agency Manav Vikas works for the establishment of a society that is based on truth, cooperation, justice, equality, love and brotherhood. While dedicating itself to the service of the humanity, Manav Vikas took the resolution to offer its services to the poor regardless of their caste, ethnicity, creed and religion. Manav Vikas has been, ceaselessly and vigorously, striving for providing voice to the voiceless, power to the powerless and resources to the deprived by steadfastly adhering to right-based approach.

Over the years Manav Vikas has implemented 65 development projects in the last 24 years with the assistance of national and international development support organisations like Government of India, NABARD, Misereor, Caritas India, Caritas Spain, Kindermissionwerk, Functional Vocational Training and Reasearch Society, Indo Global Social Service Society, Manos Unidas, Childline India Foundation and Catholic Relief Services (CRS). Since then we are intervening in 209 villages of Sagar, Raisen, Ashok Nagar, Vidisha and Guna districts on several objectives some of which are Livelihood, Good Governance, Sustainable Agriculture, Child Rights, Natural Resource Management and Women Empowerment.

Manav Vikas presently implements 13 projects of varying sizes which are bringing positive changes to the lives of 18200 households in 84 villages and 8 slums. Apart from these, Manav Vikas also works with 1030 prisoners, 2772 school teachers and 507 doctors. We are also accredited to the Credibility Alliance under Desirable Norms. Rt. Rev. Dr. James Athikalam MST, Bishop of Sagar, is the president of the society and Fr.Thomas Philip is the secretary of the society.
Sagar Dst Administration has requested us to support the people of hospitals with one time meal. In
Sagar there are 2 district hospitals and 1 Medical college. We are indeed seeking support
from you as we have collaborated with 8 - 10 local dhabas and restaurants to provide food
packets regularly. They have rated us a minimal amount of Rs 20/- per packed food per
person. We will be providing the food packets to the district hospital and Medical college
attendees which will be around 500 every day till 3rd May. Costing will be
somewhere Rs 10,000 per day.
Total costing will be for 500 people x 8 days @ 20 per person = Rs 80,000
Secondly we also plan to reach out to 1000 families with Dry ration kits
1. Rice 5 kg @Rs 24 = 120
2. Dal 2 kg@ 75 = 150
3. Oil 1 litre@ 110 = 110
4. Atta 5 kg @ 30 = 150
5. Salt 1 pkt @ 20 = 20
6. Groundnuts 1 kg @ 80 = 80
7. Sugar 1 kg @ Rs 40 = 40
8. Tea Powder 1/2 kg = 60
9. Papad 1/2 kg @ 60 = 60
10. Pulses available (Seasonal chana 1 kg Rs 40, Rajma @ Rs 30 and other grains Rs 40
etc) = 110
Total = 900/-
Total cost will be Rs 9,00,000
This also includes providing ration materials to Life line handicapped home and Anand
bhavan handicapped home, Beedi makers, TB/HIV effected families and those who do not
have ration cards, adivasi people etc.
Thirdly providing the community with Raw Materials and emergency kits
1. Bathing Soap @ Rs 20
2. Handwash @ Rs 57,
3. Dettol @ Rs 23 ,
for 1000 families @100 per family = Rs 1,00,000
Masks to 3000 families = Rs 30,000
Overall budget will be 11,10,000
We will be working in close in coordination with district administration.
