We would have read many historic love stories across times and this one, we witness on a daily basis, is nothing less than those historic love stories.
Mr. Ramachandran is a Retd. Post office employee and as per his posting, he cannot avail pension.
He and his wife, Mrs. Mala are married for 40 years now. Though they don't have any kids, it didn't impact their lives anyway. They were so happy together and Mrs. Mala was clearly one of the active people we have ever seen.
Mrs. Mala used to be an active person in her household works and a better person in maintaining relationship with all her neighbours.
But on one fateful day, Mrs. Mala tripped, fell down and then on, their life is not same as before. She was rushed to the nearest hospital, there that news awaited. She was diagnosed with Chronic kidney disease and she was advised to undergo dialysis twice a week.
Now, Mrs. Mala is undergoing Haemodialysis twice a week on a regular basis for past 3 yrs in Ramachandra Medical Centre just to sustain her life. The expense for this treatment averages to 30,000 a month.
Apart from this Haemodialysis, her medicinal costs comes upto 4000 rupees a month.
Mr. & Mrs. Ramachandran's ONLY income is the rent they are getting from their house monthly.
For now, Mr. & Mrs. Ramachandran have a 50% sponsorship for the expenses they incur from dialysis per month through Mr.Ramachandran's post office friends.
Mala aunty is bedridden all day and Ramachandran uncle is the only person taking care of her all the time along with managing the house holds.
There hasn't been a single day Ramachandran has complained about his situation. Even now, they seem to love each other and the way he takes care of his wife will moisten your eyes and heart for sure.
It breaks our heard to look at Ramachandran uncle when he says, there are already 300 dialysis done over past 2 years and it already costed him over 9 lakhs.
Now he is requesting help for the monthly medicines expenses atleast. This campaign is to try and help a lovely couple by raising funds, because thats what we can do and "Together We can do Better"
