The private & non-government sector is stepping in to assist the government in the relief work.
#RSSFeedIndia is one such initiative by young informed citizens like you who began this movement in WestDelhi India on 21st March 2020 to provide dry provisions for the Daily Wagers, Construction Workers, Widows, Single Parent Units, Migrant Labor, Hostel Youth, Beggars and street children who are out of work due to the Covid-19 lock down.
RSS Feed India in collaboration with Safa Society was initiated by Mr. Mahi Shrivastava (delhi), Mr. Arjun Singh (Rohini Delhi) & Ms. Deepti Kayasth (Rithala Delhi) & the Safa Society (Delhi) represented by Ms. Jyoti Gupta, & supported by Mr. Rahul Kumar who is the Patron for the initiative. The programme was started and has grown rampantly with the mission to provide the following care packages containing to the worst effected during this time:
2 Kg Wheat Atta
1 Kg Rice
1 Kg Onion
½ Kg Oil
½ Kg Sugar
100 gm Tea Powder
1 Kg Tur Dal / Arhar/ Chana
200 gm Red Chilli Powder
100 gm Haldi
½ Kg Salt Packet
1 Kg Washing Powder
100gms Glucose D packet
Each package (approximate cost of Rs. 500 & lasts about a week for a family) is being procured from wholesalers directly in the said locations at no profit. This is being distributed by NGO network volunteers that are asked to follow hygiene protocols to limit the spread of Corona.
Targets & Work Done:
In Phase one the target was Rs. 25,00,000 to provide for 5000 family provision packages across peera gadhi, Nangloi, rajdhani park & laxmi Park, saiyad Nangoli, kirradi,. The fund raising has been completed for this phase and impact has been that 20,000 Hungry Indian Citizens will have food for at least a week.
Now as the lockdown Is extended for over 21 days by the Hon’ble Prime Minister, the need is to reach out to more people. Hence Phase 2 has been initiated to provide 20,000 family provision packages across Delhi, with a target fund of Rs. 50,00,000
People Behind the Initiative:
There is a large group of over 50 responsible citizens from across the nation who are working tirelessly using technology & phone to bridge connects in this lockdown to ensure the volunteers are reaching the Indian who needs the care package.
Other well-wishers are generous donors including Ms.Jyoti Gupta, Mr. Rahul , Mr. Arjun Singh, Mr. Rana , Ms.arti Yadav among other.
