My dad, 60 years and retired, started experiencing lower backache 4 months ago, which gradually progressed to radiating to left leg. He was a regular jogger and very active. But after this pain started, he could hardly walk 500 meters.
We consulted orthopedician immediately and after doing all the X-rays and MRI he said it is lumbar canal stenosis(narrowing) and age related and gave us medications..but it was of no relief.

As Bad luck would have it.. the Corona pandemic set in and the entire country was under lockdown. In a city like Mumbai, where the Covid 19 virus scare was for real, especially for senior citizens, our doctor opined us to try physiotherapy, but the sessions were of no use. Then we took another opinion and after repeating xrays he gave an epidural (to decrease the pain)..the pain did decrease quite a lot..but only temporarily..after a few days back to square one..

Lockdown still continued..and so did our apathy
1 of our friend who had a similar illness suggested acupuncture...we did that too, but no improvement at all.

Orthopedician asked to repeat MRI and scans revealed the lumbar canal narrowing had worsened which was causing unbearable pain..he needs surgery as early as possible..all other tests done..covid negative..

Now all he needs is God's blessings for the surgery to go well..
