    This fundraiser will benefit

    Magesh Govindaraj

    from Chennai, Tamil Nadu

It is difficult to see our closed ones meet with accidents and battle for their lives in the hospital. Magesh and his wife, Senthalir, both are IT professionals working in Cognizant Technology Solutions - Chennai, leading a happy life along with their lovely little 18-month-old daughter. Magesh is such a beautiful, hardworking person dedicated to his work. Coming from underprivileged family background, he had to work part-time jobs to pursue his studies and support his family.  He struggled hard enough to get an IT job and settled down as a family in Chennai.

On 20th March 2020, Magesh left for work at 9:30 am on his motorbike with wife Senthalir. They met with a horrific accident on their way to work when a local passenger bus hit his bike from behind and threw them out of the vehicle. Magesh cried out of enormous pain as the front wheel of the bus ran over his left leg (ankle). His wife Senthalir fell on the road and suffered a Pelvic bone fracture causing a lot of blood loss. Both of them rushed to the nearby hospital (Kamakshi Hospital, Pallikarani, Chennai), where they got treated. After analysis, the doctors decided to amputate a portion of Magesh’s leg (from his ankle to his toe) while Senthalir was still under observation and critical care.

They got shifted to a major hospital in Chennai, for further surgeries. Magesh & Senthalir are required to undergo additional operations. Magesh is now being recommended for another amputation to his left ankle to support prosthetics. Senthalir meanwhile requires Pelvic bone correction surgery

Doctors have suggested a minimum of 6 to 8 months for their recovery. Considering his family background and current situation, I would like to request everyone one of you to help Magesh and his family for their medical treatments and post medical care. Your contributions are required for Mahesh’s prosthetic leg treatments and further treatments of Senthalir and will also support their post-care treatment.  Even a tiny financial contribution, which is the need for time, would make a lot of difference to their life.
