    from Venkatesapuram Tamil Nadu

Tax benefits for INR donations will be issued by Maatram Educational and Charitable Trust

Farmer Friendly Initiative - a registered trust that undertakes upliftment of poor and marginal farmers, along with Maatram Educational and Charitable Trust, is reaching out to support the most vulnerable communities during coronavirus pandemic lockdown - destitute, migrant workers, underprivileged, people with special needs, underprivileged single parents and daily wage earners who have lost their only sources of income owing to the lockdown. We reach out to far corners of villages, tribal communities and settlement areas where govt aid seldom reach. They heavily depend on food and essentials that are usually donated.

Our Work

We extend our support to stranded individuals across cities (32 districts of TN and few parts of South India). Our volunteers always identify genuine requests and our verification team locates and coordinates support activities. The accounts team allots funds after due diligence and the ground support team toggles between the execution of support process, analysis of geographical challenges (related to approvals from concerned authorities such as transport) and delivers a meaningful solution without any time delay. This swift action has only been possible because we align ourselves consciously to help the needy at the earliest.

Our validation team takes extra care in picking up each request based on emergency priority and the impact it can create on their daily lives. Recently we helped a few people with special needs, which in turn created over hundreds of similar requests. The amount of information we gather while processing each request helps us prioritize the most deprived among the stranded.

Our Economic and Emotional Challenges

We look for practical options to feed as many as possible within our limited resources. Hence, we are forced to choose only the most deprived among thousands of hunger requests we receive. When presented with the predicament of helping two families vs one for the same amount of money; we are obligated to choose two families considering limited funds and an increasing number of requests. We are almost always amongst extraordinarily difficult decisions and choices. We have had to prioritize hunger requests depending upon the urgency and severity and this decision-making process hasn’t been an easy one. We believe every penny we donate should reach the deserving needy the most. This approach has enabled us to reach out to 6917 individuals with a relief pack worth Rs 10.5 lakhs as of 15/05/2020.

The ‘Hope of Survival’ kit

Our package consists of dry ration, essentials, medical supplies, groceries, food and/or money – delivered with kindness. We call it the ‘Hope of Survival’ kit. We also ensure delivering healthy foods like millets, grains, pulses and eggs for malnourished kids.

What we need from you - Your Attention and Generosity
Help us drive through our emotional journey with humanity and generosity. While our volunteers grow wings to reach the needy as quickly as they can; you can help us by donating essentials, medical supplies, grocery kits, food or money. Please support us to put food in the plates of struggling families. Many are stranded on roads with empty stomachs and zero hope. Help us restore their hopes and save them from certain death.
Donate as less as Rs.700 to save a family of four for two whole weeks. The more funds you donate, the more mouths we can feed. Rs. 7000 can feed 10 families and Rs. 21000 can feed at least 100 people.
With happy eyes and trembling hands, they bless to stay alive for two more weeks.

It is a long way ahead. We need more funds, more hands, and kinder hearts
