Trekker’s Paradise Kodaikanal: Trekking in Kodaikanal: The hill station of Kodaikanal, located in the Palani Hill range of Kodaikanal is aptly called as the “Princess of Hill Stations”. The charm of Kodaikanal will make you fall in love the moment you will step into this land of mesmerizing scenic beauty, refreshing waterfalls, lakes, parks and unique caves and rock formations along with amazing viewpoints. One of the most popular of all the outdoor activities in Kodaikanal is trekking.
Kodaikanal can easily be called as “trekker’s paradise”. From professional trekker to the novice trekker, everyone will have something for them in Kodaikanal. The hill station has trekking routes with varying levels of difficulty. One can choose any of these based on their experience, fitness level, their ability to trek and the time limit they have. Some routes are so tough that only professional s can go through it while some trekking routes make for an easy and comfortable trekking experience. No matter what you choose, you will be pleased by the rich flora and fauna around you as you trek your way to the destination.

My family has the Plantation field in Kodaikanal.
To understand nature we required spends time with it. Trekking is one way of getting into it. Trekking gives us different experience in different seasons. Normally after staying inside cities we will become so mechanic, there won’t be much difference between human and machines. Trekking gives refreshment to body and also mind. It gives opportunity to feel breeze, rain, clouds, drizzle, rain, cold, freezing cold and so many things :) I don't have many words to say.
I want to clean and reopen the Shenbaganur(Kodaikanal)--Vengayapparai - "Kodaikanalkanal Ghat"-Kumbakkarai Falls ( Periakulam) (12 Kms) (4 hours)
This Trekking Path is abandoned and not handled.
Now, I am going to re-open the Trekking Path.
25 years back, the above said Trekking Path was used by public and in British Period, it is a main Bridle Path for men and cattle.
After conducting the work-study, I get the conclusion of total expenses of the Trekking Path Project-1 is Rs.28,00,000/-
The Estimation is given below:
Hidden Beneficiaries are Flora and Fauna, Forest Officials, Public,Trekkers and Tribal.
And I will donate my family property of 1 Acre to this project for construction of 2 Guest Houses for public purpose. (The above said land is situated on this trekking route)

- Kodaikanal-Green Hut (12Km) - down to Chinnur-Periakulam (300 mins.)
- Kodaikanal-Thoppithookkipparai (16Km) - Periyur (3 hours) - Sothupparai - Periakulam (10 Km).
