Background and Current condition:
Ailaiah is unable to walk since May 2018, due to spinal cord stenosis and compression in dorsal and lumbar regions (D10-D11 and L1-L2). With the help of friends like us, he has seen some of the best doctors in Hyderabad and in CMC Vellore, and tried non-surgical treatment including medicines, physiotherapy and alternative therapies. Unfortunately, he has seen very little improvement. The doctors have recommended that Spinal Cord Surgery is the only option for him at this point that gives a chance of recovery.
He is ready to go for surgery now, however it will be possible only with financial support. His financial requirement for Surgery and Post-surgery costs is about Rs.2.5 lakhs( revised to 3.25 lakh, see note below) which is in addition to some support which is likely to come from CM Relief Fund. Your help will go a long way in making Ailaiah possibly walking again and working for the social cause.
Ailaiah lives in a village near Jammikunta in Karimnagar district. He is a dalit farmer owning small piece of land. In spite of all odds stacked against him, he is a compassionate person who has always looked beyond himself and chose the path of activism. He has been working on human rights issues, farmers' issues, helping farmer suicide families, and bringing awareness of various government schemes and the farmers' entitlements and rights. He is also pursuing a degree in law, believing that this will be of help in work he is doing.
Family: Ailaiah is father of two school-going children and his wife is a daily wager.
Kindly help this good Samaritan to sail through the crisis he is facing now.
