Being someone who intends to overthink about life, values and how could I including myself, with the people around me. Most of the time I end up expressing these values and thoughts through my actions or the work I do, like a movie which tells a story.
So as a person who puts his soul into the work I do, I have realized time and again that working with young people in all the programme that I have been a part of in the last three year, has been one of the most beautiful space that I've ever had the pleasure of engaging with, during my time have been part of some fantastic programmes and in that I have witnessed some of the most heart-warming journeys and change stories I've ever seen in my life, I want to celebrate you and everyone who has been part of it for the last three years!
To reflect on the last 6 months, have been such a great experience for me personally. I traveled out of the country for the first time, with love of my friend and family I survived TB, typhoid and chicken pox, gave up eating meat and alcohol and I had loads of Dosa and chai!! what else? I have accepted and gave so much love to myself and recovered slowly with the help of friends and family!
Moving on to the next journey, me and my partner, we are planning to move and volunteer with an organisation. which is working in forest restoration and alternative living experience, Little bit more about the work they do: Our main project is the reforestation of 70 acres of severely eroded land. We are working to recreate the Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest which is indigenous to our area. This forest type is found only in Southern India and Sri Lanka and provides a rare biological richness due to its very high species abundance (over 1000 species of trees, shrubbery and liana). The Tropical Dry Evergreen Forest is now close to total extinction as only 0.01% survives. This is a last moment effort to keep this very rich and beautiful Forest on earth. As part of our reforestation effort we are also working on water conservation and soil management. No skills are required for this effort, just a willingness to help the forest. We practice an eco-friendly way of life including: veganism, alternative construction, solar energy, biodegradable toiletries, recycling, food composting, riding bicycles, compost toilets, and purchasing local, organic foods whenever possible.
And after 3 long years of north India, learning and growing. I am going to uproot my life and make this huge shift, which means I will be relocating from New Delhi to south India and of course, this is a risk I am taking but what’s life if we don’t take risk? I will be volunteering with the cause and I would also explore leadership opportunities with them after some time, to use my skills. This volunteering opportunity does not cost to do so, but there is a small amount of volunteer contribution towards the organisation for the maintenance/food and people cost. One of the biggest learning that I have had during the last few years is to reach out for help and as I have reached out to you now. Please do support me if you can. I would need help for being able to cover my volunteer contribution towards the time that I would be staying there. Any level of fund and love that you can share towards my goal would be much appreciated, And all the fund collected will only be used for the volunteer contribution only!
