We started small; the number of children enrolled was small. But, with time, our organization’s size expanded, more students were interested in getting enrolled for skill-based education. We started another branch in Gurgaon through a park. The classes were taken in any available space, and the children themselves cleaned the premises so that they could learn. Children’s performance was exceptional, both academic and non-academic. Later on, we went ahead with starting crowdfunding campaigns, so that we could expand and more children could enroll. With the funds available, we took places on rent for taking classes, so that children would face no hurdles and have hassle-free learning.
As we were looking forward to expanding and enroll more children, the Covid-19 pandemic struck the entire humanity and created a worldwide crisis, with business and non-business organizations hit severely. Our organization was no exception. We had to stop the face-to-face classes, as per the guidelines of the government, and shift to online mode. We had to shut our NGO branch in Jaipur as no classes were supposed to be conducted, and online learning had become the new normal. Our operations were hit hard, but we still ensured that we could provide all the assistance to our students for smooth and interactive online learning, and our expenses remained the same due to the online mode of classes. Our sponsors who contributed significantly had to decrease their funding as even their operations were hit hard. Despite all the hurdles, they tried their best and ensured that sufficient funds are made available for our organization.
For our students, this organization is not a mere NGO providing skill-based education, but a platform through which they can learn at their comfort and achieve their dreams without any hurdles. The more our work is affected, the more is our children’s dreams crushed.
