Hello Friends,
My name is Prashanth and I’m trying to raise funds for my friend Latha G. In August 1999, when Mindtree Consulting was started - Latha was one of the first people to be offered a job in the company. Although she has Cerebral Palsy - she did well in her job. She was one of the recipients of the National Award for Persons with Disabilities. At one point of time - everyone in Mindtree knew Latha as the face of Mindtree!
Times have changed. The organization has moved on. And so has Latha. She is now married, has a kid and a role in the organization that perfectly matches her capabilities.
I have known Latha ever since our school days. She is very Caring and Understanding. I can also attribute the fact that I was able to get a chance to work for Mindtree - to her success in the company.
Recently she had to be admitted to the Hospital with a swollen leg. She underwent a number of tests - but doctors are unable to determine the exact nature or cause of the problem.
In her household - Latha is the Primary Breadwinner. Not having her around has put stress on the entire family's financial health and well-being.
Add to this, a young boy - one of Latha's close relatives (16 yrs old) who had visited them for a family function - unfortunately ended up crushing his (right) hand in an oil grinding machine.
The whole episode played out in a very horrific and painful way. By the time the elders in the house realized what had happened - it was too late. Now the boy faces the horrifying prospect of losing his right hand. He is totally devastated by this accident and weeps inconsolably whenever he sees someone. Being at a critical phase in his life - this accident has put a big question mark on his entire future.
Both Latha and the boy are Admitted in Jain Hospital and the cost of treatment had been estimated to be around 5 to 7 lacs (INR).
While the family is trying their best to cope up with the situation, they would not be able to fund the entire treatment by themselves.
So, me and some of my friends have decided to raise funds for this noble cause. It’s our humble request to all of you (generous hearts) to help us with the same. I’m hopeful of receiving your contribution, blessings & prayers for this noble cause..... Thank you.
