Mr Lachhaman Bairagi has gone to MTC campus, L.V.Prasad eye institute, Patia, Bhubaneswar, Odisha in 2015, facing rapid vision loss. It is problem he has lived with since childhood, he was losing vision gradually.
Lacchaman left home at the age of six due to illness and was taken in by an ashram. Over the years even with gradually failing eye sight, with the support of Ashram members, he completed his education to become Dr Lachhaman Bairagi (doctorate in Odia language). At the age of 45, he realized that his vision was deteriorating rapidly and reached LVPEI for treatment. He was diagnosed with Retinitis Pigmentosa and known that day he was 100% blind and this disease is not curable. He has a wife with arthritis issues and one son of 11yr studying in 7th class. He has struggled for job and also qualified for Odia lectureship written examination in the month of March, 2020 by Dept of higher education, Odisha but finally he disqualified as per the published result of SSB,Odisha and lost hope for lectureship job. Now he is 47+ yr old man.Really he is a hopeless man. He is struggling to alive and maintains family’s basic needs.
