My daughters say, "We don't want to give up. We wish to live. We wish to see the world."

I am a single mother and a patient of Rheumatoid Arthritis. I am on Methotrexate (which is also a drug used in chemotherapy of cancer patients) and steroids, for the treatment of Rheumatoid Arthritis. It's hard for me to even manage daily chores. I am in unbearable pain every day.
I was recently diagnosed with hypothyroidism and it makes it even more difficult and painful for me to manage my daily chores. Each activity is difficult. The medical bills alone are 30000 a month.
I have two daughters, Neha and Maahi. My husband left me and my daughters 21 years back, for another woman. When my younger daughter was a month old and my elder daughter was nine years old, he left us in tears and pain all alone. Me and my elder daughter were a victim of physical, mental and emotional abuse and torture caused by him each day. When he left us, I contacted his family, but they refused to help us.

One day, he hit me with the heel of his shoes so badly that I developed swelling all over my brain and after beating me he stripped all my clothes and threw me out of the house. I went through treatment for around 4 years.

I raised my daughters all alone. Even though the younger one was only a month old, I had to work for our survival and I started working in the unorganised private sector. My mother used to look after my daughters even though she was aged and needed someone to look after her.  my mother was a widow and a pensioner. She could not bear the shock of me and her grandchildren being helpless and she passed away in 2006. I was left without any emotional and financial support. The little amount that my mother left for me could not last long. I don't even have my own house or any property.

I was diagnosed with Rheumatoid Arthritis in 2010. I had to leave my job due to Rheumatoid Arthritis. I enabled my elder daughter in completing her 12th somehow, and she started working at the age of 18. With her meager salary and taking loans, she is helping her younger sister study and is supporting my medical treatment. For a few years, a relative was helping us in our survival, but things got worse when he passed away suddenly. I am shattered with no hope.

I was recently hospitalized as I was diagnosed with lower respiratory tract infection (pneumonia) and my rheumatoid arthritis worsened. I am helpless and in desperate need of help for our survival.

Now without your help, we cannot survive. My younger daughter is pursuing her law and is in her fourth year. She started working in a call center  and was getting a meager salary of 8000 per month as she is not even a graduate and is a fresher. She worked till October 31st 2019 but she had to quit her job. The company refused to give her any leaves for her exams and moot courts and humiliated her saying that she has to choose either her job or her law degree. They said we don't care even if she doesn't pass.

I am compelled to stay in a house with a rent of Rs 15,750 (which will increase again next year)  due to my Rheumatoid Arthritis, I cannot use an Indian toilet or climb stairs which we find in a house with low rent amount. Hence, I have no choice at all. The doctor has prohibited me from sitting down on the floor or climbing stairs at all. I once did use the artificial commode when using the Indian toilet but I fell down and hurt myself.

It is becoming difficult to even visit the doctor. Now, even a three-course meal is a luxury for us, we need at least Rs. 26000-30000 per month for 2 years to survive until my younger daughter can find a better job when she completes her graduation.

The total fundraiser amount is the amount for a total of 2 years. Each and every penny that you give will matter to us in our survival.

The funds will be utilized for:
1. Food
2. Rent
3. Doctor Visits
4. Medicines
5. My Daughters Education

(She is in her fifth year of law, her college fee, books, exam fee, etc) Her Yearly fee is Rs. 75000 and it would only be possible to pay if we save Rs. 6250 per month. We used to save it but as all our help stopped we had no option but to utilize it to survive. We could successfully submit her fourth year law fee with the help we received through this fundraiser and now her 5th-year fee is pending.

My daughter Maahi is on the verge of completing her degree and becoming a lawyer. Below is the picture of my daughter with Late Adv. Ram Jethmalani Sir whom she met when she was in her first year.

My daughter with Padma Shri is Dr. T. K. Viswanathan, Secretary-General of the 15th Lok Sabha. She learned a lot about RTI, Competition Act and IT act from him.

I humbly request you all kind souls to please help this mother who  will be indebted to you throughout her life. Please do not let my daughters be denied of the simple right to live, for it is not their fault but their destinys. May God continue to bless you always.
