Age/Gender : 24 Years
He is suffering from ACUTE INFLAMMATORY DEMYLENATING POLYNEUROPATHY.
Chief complaints: 24 years old male patient presented to hospital with complaints of weakness and pain over both lower limbs , difficulty in walking since 15 days, unable to sit and stand, B/L pedal edema.
PAST HISTORY : No Known Co-morbidities
Patient was presented to hospital with history of paraesthesias of both lower limbs. CSF analysis was done showing normal. Upon routine investigations deranged level of total Bilirubin: 1.4mg/dl, direct Bilirubin: 0.7 mg/dl were noticed, NCS analysis was done showing B/L symmetrical large fiber demylenating axonal, sensory+ motor peripheral polyneuropathy. In view of this patient was started on IVIG of 13 grams in three divided doses was given with regular physiotherapy.
During day 3 Patient complaints of numbness in abdomen and chest region s/o progression of disease. Now patient attendants are not willing and wants to get discharged request due to personal problem. The risk, complications have been clear explained to patient attendants in their own language.
