Our lovely and beautiful 1year old daughter Krishvi Prasad (one of our twins) unfortunately has hearing loss. This is disheartening as parents to digest that she is not having a normal sense of hearing as many of us do and won't not be able to hear all the sounds around her. She is suffering from bilateral hearing loss.
But thanks to technological advancement and science, there is a way to correct this surgically by having a Cochlear Implant. This will help her to understand and hear all the sounds around her and learn. This would also help her in her overall physical and behavioral development too. She is currently on hearing aids past 4months and shown a positive response to it and this made us and our ENT Surgeon, Therapist & Audiologist to come to a conclusion that Cochlear Implant would definitely benefit her.
Krishvi, she is a cheerful and playful little girl who loves to play with her other twin, interacts with us with gestures, smiles a lot, crawls all around the home. She loves to listen/understand a lot about what is happening in front of her and imitate others. Blabber few words like Mamama, pappa, bababa, and also shouts/screams a lot which we feel is her favorite thing.
Coming to our ENT Surgeon Dr. Neelam Vaid, KEM Hospital, Pune and her team, who are excellent at their job and field with a lot of experience around the Cochlear Implant Surgery. We are equally thankful to her, as our child is in the right hands and guidance.
However, the Cochlear Implant Surgery including the Cochlear Implant Device is itself a very costly affair in India and still out of reach for many. We as parents were not prepared for any such thing and also have never experienced anything in our family of this sort. The blessing of having Twins , but one of them with hearing loss, is itself both, surprising and shocking for us. Although we have tried to arrange funds from various sources still we are short hence requesting help which will help us to cover the complete cost of overall surgery.
Your generous help will give our child the ability to hear and would also help her in this journey of digital hearing.
