My name is Khushali Jaiswal.
Here I'm, a small-town girl from Bihar seeking financial support to fund her education at Vedica Scholars Programme for Women.
From a village of Bihar - Shahpur Patory in Samastipur district, where it’s a struggle for a girl to be able to dream of pursuing higher education and building a career. I have been told things like - “We were married off by your age and had children, you should be thankful that you are able to study beyond school.” But my family gave wings to my aspirations.
I was able to attain my schooling from Vidya Devi Jindal School, Hisar, from where I went on to pursue BA Political Science Hons from Miranda House, University of Delhi. I’m a person of grit and determination all because of the kind of education I was able to gain and the financial & societal struggles that I have endured so far.
My father is small tobacco trader and my mother a homemaker. The annual income of father is less than 6 lacs/annum and he has the responsibility of my younger brother who is in 10th along with my grandmother and the partial responsibility of my uncle’s family.
The struggle to build a career for myself and complete my education continues, as for my higher education at Vedica, I have been unable to secure a loan due to various factors like Vedica not being AICTE approved, my father's low CIBIL score, many NBFC's not being operational in my village or willing to give loan in my area.
I took courage and confirmed my admission at Vedica and managed to raise funds for my first installment through crowdfunding and personal savings given by my father in these uncertain times.
But we cannot pay the further instalments on our own since availing a loan is not an option and my family cannot afford to pay for it.
This is the reason, I intend to seek any aid possible to be able to raise funds for my college and find a desirable job to support my family and fulfil my aspirations for the country.
I aim to build a career for myself in the education sector along with my interests in brand management and marketing.
There are two projects that I'm passionate to build-
- opening a diverse, wholesome and gender-neutral school in my village, so that kids don't have to migrate or not pursue their education due to their financial situation.
- Work towards enabling a 'PepperSpray free India' for women programme, encouraging women to break the curfews & chains of patriarchy and pursue their life goals.
Kindly, help me make this a reality and support my endeavours!
