Images of the gorgeous lake!
I am a passionate runner and use the area around the KKH lake for my practice runs. The lake has given me a lot and I want to give back to the lake and the community at large.
Kaikondrahalli lake is a lake on Sarjapura road that was a dumpyard few years ago. It was rejuvenated by the BBMP with active involvement of local citizens. This is a community maintained lake and the most bio-diverse urban common in Bangalore. It is home to 48 acres of year around water and greenery and more than 50 species of resident and migratory birds and reptiles.
This beautiful 48-acre lake is almost completely community-funded and managed by MAPSAS Trust.
Many of us use the lake for walking, jogging and just to take in the beauty of the trees and birds. I am requesting you to please contribute towards its upkeep. Let it not become a dry land and home to garbage! Help us save the lake! And save the world and save the water for our children to use and enjoy.
You can get more details of the lake at FB page - Kaikondrahalli Lake.
The lake management and upkeep is looked after by the not for profit trust MAPSAS which consists of members from the surrounding community. As one of the means to raise funds for the lake, MAPSAS organizes a lake festival or Kere Habba every 2nd weekend of January.
The third edition of the Kaikondrahalli Kere Habba is just around the corner—Sunday, January 8, 2017!
We hope you will help us raise funds that will in turn take care of the set up expenses for organizing this festival without dipping into our maintenance funds. All donations are greatly appreciated and are tax-exempt under 80G section.
Thank you for helping and supporting the lake and supporting Kere Habba 2017.
