Fees & Living Expenses
The total sum of course fees comes to Rs 2,07,000 for each of us and we have to submit the fees by 8th July, 2021 for the same. This is the last extension we have got to pay the fees, failing which our admission is likely to be withdrawn.
As we are arranging the course fees, we are now also hoping to work part-time to secure our living expenses and other costs, but we would appreciate having a head-start on the course fees.
First Year fees, for one person: Rs 1,03,500
Two Years fees, for one person: Rs 2,07,000
Total Fees, for both of us: Rs 4,14,000
All our savings so far: Rs 30,000
We are two 20-year old girls and since 2017, we have been running a tuition center for the children in our community. While we had invited some teaching-volunteers to teach us, we were also simultaneously teaching the younger kids. We have been dreaming big and also encouraging our children to also dream big, with the hope that dreams can be realized.
Today, we are finally in a place to get back to academics and field work, which has always been our passion. However, due to unfortunate reasons, we could not secure any funding.
"I, Kavitha, work as a Field Survey Worker, the person who may have visited your home during pandemic to check on your health."
"And, I, Vineetha, work as the book-keeper of sales in a vegetable shop here."
With our current jobs, it has been a challenge to even support our families, let alone fund our education. Thus, we are in a position to change not only our lives but several others, but we have no financial means to get there.
Interests & Life Goals
Going to St. Joseph's, beyond being an academic achievement and life-changing moment for students like us, is also where we can learn, understand and resolves the issues facing our immediate communities.
We plan to work with our children and empower them in various spheres.
"I, Vineetha, want to become a Village Administrative Officer in Tamil Nadu, so that I can work specifically in the field of Public Education and women empowerment. I want to be able to ensure quality education in all public schools"
"And, I, Kavitha, want to work with the young people in my community in the field of employment and skill building, as unemployment is a big issue in my community."
Our goal is to ultimately create networks and support systems in every state to make higher education more accessible to students like us, particularly those from rural areas and urban slums.
Our plans for the future - continuations of our Tuition Center and community building - are so closely linked to the course we are hoping to do at St. Joseph's, and we would be grateful for your help to get us there.
So today, we reach out to you because we have run out of options to pay for this opportunity. We also want to show our other students that money should never be an obstacle in the pursuit of big dreams.
Any contribution will help, and we sincerely thank you if you can spread this campaign, move it through your networks or help in any other way. If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to me at email@example.comfirstname.lastname@example.org, as we would like to be as transparent as possible with this campaign and its funding request!
