My Uncle Kailas Patil is admitted in HCG Manavata Cancer Speciality Hospital and fighting for his life.
He is a farmer and already suffering financial losses since last 2 years due to irregular monsoon and environmental factors.
He was diagnosed with Squamous Carcinoma(Neck Cancer) on 13th Nov 2019 at Tata Memorial Hospital and tumor was removed successfully on 7th Dec 2019 in Tata Memorial Hospital, Mumbai.
As per the treatment plan, he took 30 radiation seating at Jupiter Hospital, Thane until 28th Feb 2020.
As he felt better, he went to his Hometown in Dhule District on 9th March 2020 and he was due for a follow-up at Tata Memorial Hospital on 28th March 2020 but due to lockdown, movement was not allowed and he faced lot of medical issues like vomiting, breathlessness, insomnia as well as depression.
His weight also drastically reduced from 62 Kg to 47 Kg because he was not able to eat anything from mouth and only consumed liquid food through nasogastric tube( Nose Tube).
He managed to receive a consultation from Khandesh Cancer Centre, Dhule on 17th April 2020 where CT Scan was also performed on him.
Later on when his pain worsened, we brought him back in Mumbai on 10th June 2020 and we took him to Tata Memorial Hospital thrice and performed various tests required.
He was feeling uneasy one day and hence we admitted him in Mauli Hospital, Kalwa for overnight and next day we took him to Tata Memorial Hospital as the appointment was due.
Looking at his infection near Tracheostomy area, Tata Memorial Hospital Doctors decided to perform a minor OT on him where they found out that the tumor has widely spread and its case of Stage 4 Cancer(Metastatic Squamous Carcinoma).
Our entire family was in shock but somehow we gathered courage and decided to fight the situation.
Its quite rare and unfortunate that the cancer recurred within 6 month’s time and also spread in other organs.
He required immediate treatment hence we admitted him to HCG Manavata Cancer Centre, Nashik on 27th June 2020 1 AM.
His CT Scan report on 29th June,2020 shows that the cancer has spread into both of his lungs and we are expecting PET Scan test done in couple of days.
His treatment will consist of Chemotherapy and antibiotics and he will be required to be admitted into the hospital for many days.
Being a farmer(Annual income approx. 75000) with 4 dependents, he already found it difficult to make ends meet and yet again he is put into very difficult test.
We also need to thank all the doctors who had treated him till now and they have given their 100%, its quite unfortunate that the disease came back again and spread so rapidly.
My father is also a farmer and me and my brother are students.
Till now we raised around 2,00,000 through family and friends throughout his treatment of 7 Months and stood by him.
At this tough time, Please help us raise 10,00,000 and more for his treatment.
