Meet John! He’s a 7 years old dog rescued from a life on a 2-foot leash. John was rescued by Humane Society International/India after receiving a distressing complaint about gross pet neglect. When I first saw John, he was tethered to a wall with a 2-foot rope, a discarded board leaning against the wall as shelter, did not give him any protection from rain or sun. He was hostile, without access to sufficient food or water, and living in his own filth. I could immediately tell that his hostility was a result of the lack of socialization and human interaction. The situation was so bad and John was cared for so little that his family was more than happy to hand him over when we approached to counsel them on his basic care. We couldn’t leave John in this condition. We were ecstatic to witness John, who was never pampered, enjoy his first car ride. This is the moment that I knew we made the right decision. We saw a change in John’s behaviour within a few days of rescuing him. He’s still learning to trust people and, with your help, we can make it happen! I need your help to cover the costs of his boarding, medical treatment, rehabilitation, and course correction.
Could you help me raise 75,000 INR to help sweet John have a second chance at life? Any contribution towards John’s rehabilitation will be of great help.
I can’t wait to show John that there is more to life than what he has known and to eventually find him a home where he can learn to love and be loved.
No dog deserves to be isolated from everything. Dogs are loving, loyal, social animals and have an amazing ability to love and trust again. John, too, can make a full recovery and have a second chance at life! Help contribute to his medical and rehab expenses so he can get ready to find a new, loving family soon!
