Velanganny is a hard-working mother of two children who is a Tailor by profession and the sole breadwinner for her family. She was recently diagnosed with stage 3 cancer and is advised to undergo chemo treatment and subsequently undergo a surgery to remove uterus.  She has started her first chemo treatment at Adyar Cancer Institute in Chennai and is advised to continue treatment for few more weeks and then go for a surgery. She will need to make monthly visits post surgery as well to ensure there is no relapse. Her husband was diagnosed with TB and is now recovering after the treatment.
