You don’t have to- but you can save him, if you like to.
I am Paresh Gandhi, a common man with some beautiful people around me, trying to make a difference wherever I possibly can.
On December of 2018, Jayesh Patel, from Surat, Gujarat, India, a very good childhood friend of mine was going about his usual day admiring nature, feeding the birds, going to work, providing for his family, spending time with his family when suddenly he didn’t feel so good.
After multiple tests and checkups Jayesh was diagnosed with 'Idiopathc pulmonary fibrosis( IPF )', a very rare lung disease. Here are pictures after his diagnosis from the hospital and also all the reports of the multiple tests the hospitals had to do.
Idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF) causes scar tissue to grow inside lungs. Usually, when you breathe in, oxygen moves through tiny air sacs in your lungs into the bloodstream. From there, it travels to organs in your body.- WebMD
Jayesh is in the stage where he needs the lung transplant, this might help him get back to his life, work, wife and two kids. His daughter and son are still pursuing their education and he was the sole bread winner of his family.
I have tried to get him treated at different hospitals in different cities in India but in vain. His condition has worsened and the only option in front of us is the lung transplant, that would cost more than Rs.60,00,000/- which is completely unimaginable by this simple family. His family is not financially equipped to pay even his hospital bills, so they were not even considering a transplant as an option.
Hospitals provided us with bills of Rs.3,21,000 for 3 days just for the pre-test before the transplant. Additionally, the pre-tests require another 10 days to complete, for which there are not able to afford. The family is completely devastated and heartbroken with Jayesh’s condition and their lack of financial ability to provide him a better treatment.
Jayesh is on oxygen support, not being able to breathe, talk, sleep or even take a bath. When I spoke to him he was coughing up so much that I had tears in my eyes just hearing him. When I asked his wife about him taking a shower, she said that he struggles to even breathe every time he tries, so she is towel bathing him every day. His wife(small scale tailor) and kids(studying in school) are hoping that he gets better soon and so do I. Their current total family income does not exceed $40(Rs.3000) per month.
I believe that this is a very small help that I can do from my side and spread the news around me by setting up this donation page. I request all my wonderful friends and family to pray for him and his family and make any possible donations to help him out with his serious health condition. Any small amount would make a big difference in their lives.
Thank you very much. God bless you all!!!
