The past year has been testing and cruel for my sister in law, Jayanti who is battling Oral Cancer. She had been having recurrent oral ulcers for quite some time and doctors and dentists in her hometown couldn’t diagnose the exact reason for her illness, and she had been suggested to visit Vellore by one of the dentists in her hometown.
As suggested, Jayanti visited Christian Medical College in Vellore and was diagnosed with Oral cancer. Jayanti has undergoing chemotherapy and radiation therapy however she suddenly developed life- threatening lung infections. With the latest infections she is back in the ICU, and her family is in dire need of funds to cover this sudden ICU expense.
Her husband is a small business owner with limited funds and since her family (husband and son) has been staying in Vellore since November 2018, all their savings (in lakhs) have already been spent on chemotherapy and radiation therapies. They need more funds for treating Jayanti for lung infections in the ICU but have no means whatsoever.
