The dinner on 16th August 2019 was abrupt in the Ghosh residence. My father, Jayanta Kumar Ghosh, hale and hearty at 74years of age couldn’t complete his dinner. He rested his head on the shoulders of my mother, Bhabani Ghosh, for support. Alas! The food dropped from his mouth and my father was speaking gibberish. My mother’s tears and my earnest prayers were unable to move my father’s right side of the body.

Immediately, we rushed my father to a nearby nursing home in our hometown Chinsurah and later shifted my father to Peerless Hospital and B.K. Roy Research Centre in Kolkata. After the CT scan, Neuro surgeon Dr. Sibaji Dasgupta, informed us that my father suffered from severe hemorrhage in his brain with complete paralysis of the right side of his body. Mr. Jayanta Kumar Ghosh was then shifted to Neuro Intensive Care Unit (ICU). After a week, my father’s condition improved; however he was kept under close observation in the same hospital. Thereafter, his health suddenly deteriorated and he developed sepsis.My father was rushed back to ICU at the same hospital, yet again and was incubated this time. It has been more than a fortnight since then; Mr. Jayanta Kumar Ghosh is fighting for his survival.

At the moment, my father requires intensive care treatment, which as we all know, is expensive. The hospital charges of about Rs 20000-25000 is increasingly becoming a burden on our family with limited means.  The estimated cost of treatment for my father is about Rs 20lacs.

Therefore, we are looking to crowdfund this required amount. This amount is to meet the hospital bills, medicine bills and other related medical expenditure of Mr. Jayanta Kumar Ghosh.
