Bannerghatta road had huge ficus trees, mango trees, jamun trees along with other local and indigenous trees on both the sides of the road. Millions of birds of different species like rose ringed parakeets, mynas, bulbuls, migratory birds like rosy starlings, small mammals like monkeys, squirrels and bats, insects like honey bees were depended on these trees.
2 years back road widening started and all the trees were chopped down leaving these creatures homeless and foodless.
We have a plan to re-create the same in the road next to bannerghatta forest.
