There were 2.34+ lakh deaths in India. An average 4,800 people are dying every day due to oxygen shortage.
The second COVID-19 wave has put India's entire healthcare system under immense stress. Many hospitals across India were reporting about oxygen shortage.
Inox Foundation has started an initiative called 'BATTLE FOR BREATH' to help hospitals across the country to get immediate access to oxygen cylinders. We had planned to purchase 1,00,000 oxygen cylinders as fast as possible to save India. Each oxygen cylinder is around Rs5,000.
In the northern state of Uttar Pradesh, some hospitals have put "oxygen out of stock" boards outside, and in the state capital Lucknow hospitals have asked patients to move elsewhere.
Smaller hospitals and nursing homes in Delhi are doing the same.
Many stricken with COVID-19 virus are dying while they wait for oxygen. Hospitals are struggling to accommodate breathless patients, or even keep alive those who were lucky enough to find a bed.
As a responsible organization of India, Inox Foundation has donated 1,000+ oxygen cylinders across India in last 15 days. A team of 100+ are working hard to help us meet our objective of transforming lives. But we can’t do that without you.
