The Society for Awareness and Holistic Activities by Youth (SAHAY) is a Non-profit Organisation (NGO) working in the West Godavari district, Andhra Pradesh since 2006. Working for the welfare of mentally challenged individuals in rural and tribal areas where no government or other NGO work was being done, SAHAY offers medical aide, education, rehabilitation to those affects and runs awareness programs to prevent future generations from suffering similar fates in those living in poverty.
Through this HRUDAYALAYAM, a special school, was established in 2009 to provide boarding, aide, education, everyday resources, recreation, rehabilitation, vocational training at NO COST to children who are orphans, semi orphans, HIV/AIDs affected, multi-disabled. Out-patient services are also provided without age limitations.
Currently the organisation is self-funded and helped by donations from supporters. Doing this with a monthly expenditure of almost Rs.3,00,000 per month to provide the children and other patients with full time care is daunting, much more so in the current time.
For Hrudayalayam to sustain the remaining 9 months of 2020, we are critically in need of 27 lakh rupees (including administrative costs). There are 46 residential children, 11 day scholars and 10 more children to come for physiotherapy services twice weekly. Please find it in your heart to help those that are so often forgotten or discarded by our society because of flaws that they did not deserve to be born with.
