With a heavy heart I, Diptiman Dasgupta and my wife, Mohua(Chatterjee) Dasgupta have come to your doorstep to seek an adequate monetary help for my only son, Hrishab Dasgupta, who is diagnosed with Blood Cancer (Leukemia) since Feb 6, 2017 and at present is advised from the Tata Medical Centre (TMC), Kolkata to undergo a Bone Marrow transplant operation.
As you might be aware, the Bone Marrow transplant operation is fairly expensive and stands at a hovering cost of 40 lac (Forty Lakhs) rupees as quoted by the hospital.
The detection was first observed and confirmed from the medical team on 6th Feb 2017 wherein he was severely suffering from acute pain in his legs. The resultant outcome of the medical tests happened to be Acute Leukemia. Since then, he has undergone a planned treatment schedule at the TMC, Kolkata from 06.02.2017 to 23.05.2019. To face an unfortunate outcome of the treatment, the Leukemia had relapsed on 05.12.2019, within a span ending 6 months.
The medical resolution of this relapse of the cancer cells yet again in his blood stream happens to put him in a Risk category. The inference from the medical team happens to be an immediate commencement of Chemotherapy sessions and will be followed by a Bone Marrow transplant.
The Bone Marrow transplant is one of the risky procedures a human body can endure. It can result in Stem cell failure, Organ damage, Infections, Cataracts, Infertility, New cancers. To have the best medical attendance we have being continuing his treatment under the supervision of trained and experienced doctors at Tata Medical Centre (TMC), Kolkata.
Presently his education is compromised for continuing his medical treatment. Hrishab happened to be a student of standard Sr KG in National Gems School, Kolkata. He enjoys painting, is an avid singer and it is a sheer pleasure to spend time with him as he is a pro-active talkative kid with keen communication skills.
The cost of the transplant happens to be a mountain load for us considering the present family income from our jobs to match the estimated cost proposed by the hospital which stands at a figure of 40 lakhs (Forty lakhs rupees).
Besides the Bone marrow transplant, other treatment costs like, chemotherapy, medication and hospitalization are also very expensive, which we are managing somehow. Myself and my wife are not in a capacity to pay the total expenses and would put forward an earnest request to you and the authorities to help us at your maximum capacity.
We have requested friends and family members to come forward and help us with contributions to enable this transition. But as we are aware the concerned amount of money in this case happens to be leagues away from all our joint efforts. We would sincerely need your help to raise funds for Hrishab’ s bone marrow transplant operation.
