The second wave of COVID-19 has been having devastating effects in our country India. No one expected such a tremendous impact and no one was prepared for it either.
Oxygen supply- The need of the hour: [OUR PLANT WILL PROVIDE FREE OXYGEN TO POOR IN INDIA(The reason we are buying the plant, is to reduce the cost of a cylinder. Which will reach to more and more people)]
As of now, the victims of Covid-19 are suffering from this deadly disease but even more, suffering is from lack of medicine, oxygen supplies, hospital beds, etc. Out of all, medical oxygen is very important because almost one-quarter of COVID-19 victims admitted require medical oxygen since it's a lung-targeted disease and affects our vital respiration process entirely. Further, there are people suffering from other major traumas who require ICU, which again needs medical oxygen. This has exponentially stressed our already exhausted health care infrastructure.
According to PATHS Oxygen needs tracker, India has the greatest demand for oxygen, out of all other low, lower-middle, and upper-middle-income countries. India's highest oxygen requirement during the first wave was around 4 million(cubic meters) in the months of July to September. But, in 2021 April the requirement is over triple-fold and is touching 14 million. Also, Demand for it has seen to be surging between 6%-8% each day as per their reports.
Our Health care infrastructure is under severe pressure and many people are left to die without even being given the right treatment due to a shortage of oxygen. Statistics show that one Indian dies every three minutes due to a lack of oxygen. A doctor has quoted to BBC that "Patients are dying without oxygen like fish out of water" which makes us go numb. Such is the demand for oxygen.
The daily site of people waiting in long queues for several hours risking their lives for their kith and kin to procure oxygen cylinders is heart-wrenching everyone. The coming weeks in India are predicted to be a lot worse and there is a need for magnanimous effort to save our country from crumbling into death beds.
And now, the oxygen crisis has propelled our team OYSC to take the matters into hands, as a result of which I have initiated a project to install and run a "Medical oxygen generation plant". Our oxygen plant can provide 1,200 oxygen cylinders per day and each cylinder has 40 liters of capacity. For this, we require INR 1,00,00,000 funding which will cover all the equipment, installation, and infrastructure expenses. In case if there is any extra money remaining from this fund, we would either expand our plant or redirect it to our other initiatives of distributing COVID-19 kits to COVID-19 victims which also suffers from fund shortage. So, if your feeling enraged, hopeless, or sad about this current situation and want to do a bit of your part, please donate without thinking twice.
"People are not dying of Covid-19
People are dying of lack of treatment"
We request each and everyone to remember the above line and kindly donate as much as possible.
Let's stop our oxygen chase and help India breathe before it's too late. Requesting and urge all of you to share the link of this campaign with your family, friends, and colleagues so that we can maximize our reach and change this gloomy situation quicker.
Thanks in advance!
