Help me give my maid her HOME back.
We recently had heavy rainfall here in Nagpur region.
Though the rainfall wasn't much for privileged people like us who stay in good concreate homes. But it was impactful enough for my maid which devastated her life just in few hours. And she became HOMELESS.
On 3rd September 2021 , when there was heavy rain in Nagpur region and everyone was sleeping safely in their home , she was loosing the only shed that she could afford. Her house whose walls were same as the sewage system's wall fell half as the soil beneath it slide. She had built it in the span of 20 years with her last pennies and sweat.
The very next day she received a notice from the Nagpur municipal corporation for tearing down the house with 2 more beside hers. They came and bulldozed her only roof as it was stamped unfit for living in front of her very eyes. You and I can't even imagine the pain that she felt when it was happening. Being 45 years old with your body giving up and the only person earning its very difficult for her to build it again.
This isn't a made up story but a real plight of a homeless hard working lady. For the people who are really interested in helping and yet doubtful, I understand your point of view and hence, I will be attaching the newspaper cutting of the incident to prove its authenticity.
I have done my part by helping her with whatever I can, may it be food or funds. But I alone can't move a mountain, so I humbly request you to please help her with whatever you deem right. Your small contribution (one less burger or a movie) can be her only salvation.
