Let's make a great start to this New Year.
Dear friends, this is Suraj Tiwari a 23 year old young man who lost his legs and one hand in a train accident 2 years ago. He was pushed by unknown people off the running train. Same year he lost his elder brother who was the only bread runner of the family. He comes from a very poor family in Uttar Pradesh and I met him at JNU (Jawahar Lal Nehru University, Delhi) where he came to hear me at the seminar yesterday. Currently he is pursuing Bachelor's in Russian language from JNU. He is using wheelchair to commute. He was been a good sports person before this incident. He wishes to represent India in Paralympics games in coming years. The reason I’m sharing this here is because I want to help get him prosthetic legs and with the help of Doctors and specialists in Delhi they concluded that he is an able candidate for prosthetics and that the he deserves to get it because he is a happy energetic soul who wants to work and make a life. Unfortunately without his legs no one will hire him. To get prosthetics on both legs (we have opted for the better ones as it will allow him to move better and last longer) it will cost INR 7.5 lacs (For both legs). Will really appreciate it if some of you can contribute because I will be doing the same and life is unpredictable. Today it’s him, tomorrow it can be one of our own and I believe that all of us must give back to whoever we can in as small or big a way as possible.
